Commissions Info

Status: Closed/Limited- I am currently limited to 1 commission at a time.
- Feel free to enquire even when it says closed and I will let you know if I am able to do it!

What Can I do?

  • I mainly do landscapes, environments and other large form pieces.

  • I can do low to mid detailed characters and creatures that fit into the environments appropriately (Typically taking up less than a quarter of the overall image focus).

  • I can do fantasy, sci-fi, nature, historical, modern and fictional environment settings such as cyberpunk, steampunk, etc.

What Won't / Can't I do?

  • High detailed character and creature focussed art. (Currently; This will change in the future).

  • High amounts of body gore, dismemberment, violence, etc. I can still do moderate levels within reason. Feel free to enquire with details about the level of gore, etc, and I shall be able to tell you if I can do it!

  • Highly sexual themes and porn, etc.

  • If there is a specific aspect, setting, subject matter or feature you want which I have not listed then please ask and I will let you know if I would be able to do it!

Terms Of Service

By Commissioning me, you are agreeing to my Terms of Service on this page!
Please read carefully!

Payments:

  • Payments are in GBP via Paypal.

  • I will issue all payments through the PayPal invoice system.

  • Payments are due up front unless the commission is 200 GBP or more.

  • For commissions above 200 GBP, I take 50% up front as a deposit, then the final 50% when the sketch is approved to be finalised.

  • Some payment process exceptions can be made at my discretion if you require it.

General Guidelines and Process:

  • I work on a "first come first served" basis.

  • I reserve the right to reject commission requests if I feel like I am incapable or unable to complete it.

  • I stream my art process on Twitch frequently and that can also include commission work. If you require a commission to be done off stream, please make sure to state that that clearly in the commission pitch!

  • I begin work when payments are received and I try to keep my work turnover rate within a week or 2 of payment. But it can be longer depending on my queue.

Modifying Your Commission

  • You can modify any part of your commission at any time before I start working on the piece but the cost won't go down from the original agreed upon cost.

  • Once I start working on the commission, you are able to make small changes typically. However if a larger and more time consuming change is required, then this will require additional fees.

  • Make sure to give me all the important information before I begin because if I miss out something important from the art due to not being told to include it, then adding it may likely cost extra!

  • You may upgrade a loose detail render to a high detail render after completion for the extra cost difference. Eg: If you already paid for a quick render for £150, then you can upgrade it to a £350 higher detail render where you would pay the extra £200 to make it up to the new higher detail price.

Usage, Rights & Commercial Rights:

  • All rights to the art, sketches and final commissioned art belong to ABluSkittle unless you have express written permission in the contract stating otherwise by purchasing the necessary commercial or exclusivity/NDA rights.

  • Prices, by default, are for personal use ONLY (Except Emotes which include commercial use rights).

  • If you would like to use the art for commercial purposes, it will cost an extra 20-50% of the full commission cost.

  • Commercial purposes include: Use for re-sale, products, marketing, streams (Such as Twitch), YouTube, etc.

  • If you share my art on socials, please be sure to credit and tag me as the artist or credit me as ABluSkittle with a link to this Carrd if I am not on the site.

  • You may not use my art to make NFTs or train AI/Machine learning tools.

  • I reserve the right to re-use sketches and design elements that were rejected by the commissioner for other commissions or personal works.

Cancellations / Refunds:

  • Once work has begun, all payments are final so please be sure that you are financially stable and also certain you want to commission me before doing so!

  • In the event of an order needing to be cancelled before any work has begun, then I can refund you easily.

Contacting Me For a Commission:

  • You can contact me with the form below or through e-mail: [email protected]

  • During the commission period, I can also contact you through Discord, if you would prefer, for quicker and easier feedback communication.

  • Please put "Commission" in the subject of the email to avoid it getting caught by the spam filter!

  • When I receive your email, I will then reply with whether I can do the commission for you and also the price. We can then go from there!

  • Below is a set of questions you can use to format your email when commissioning me which helps give me the best idea of what you want and how to work out the price of the commission.

  • There is also a workflow example below to give a rough idea of how I will work with you on your commission!

Commission Contact Form

Useful Things To Help Me Understand Your Commission!

What Type of commission do you want?
Emotes, Loose detail or High detail render? Or maybe you want to upgrade an existing loose detail render to a high detail render?
Do you need it in a square format or layered PSD format at 5000x6000px for specific uses such as a parallax effect in video or animation, etc? The default is a simple PNG format at 5400x3600px.

Can you describe the art you want me to make for you?
Any particular style / aesthetic you want? Clean, textured, oil-painterly, etc.
If it's for a D&D setting, you could give me a description of the area that you would give to your D&D players, etc.Plus any references, mood boards and other important information I will need for characters, vibe, etc.(If you miss out any important details which require me to make a major change later on, this may likely increase the commission cost as it will require extra unplanned work time to change).

Only have a vague idea and not sure specifically what you want?
I can do idea exploration with small sketches (called thumbnails) to help narrow down the final art you want! Bare in mind, this process can take a bit longer due to requiring more feedback and sketches so it may increase the commission price.

What are the 5 most important features that MUST be included?
You can included between 1 and 5 elements on this list. I recommend no more than 5 as adding too much can be rather restricting and hard to work with.
I will prioritise the first 5 on the list and cannot guarantee more unless they are absolutely necessary, but the increased restrictions may increase the commission price due to making it hard to fit all the elements in!

- What do I mean by "5 most important features"?
This typically refers to dynamic or significant elements of an image which can affect composition, placement of key focal points and other details.
For example:
Saying the setting is a red or blue meadow wouldn't be considered a significant element as it is just the general setting. Similarly, for your character/s, the characters and outfits are a base detail and don't need to be included in the 5 most important features.
However telling me the meadow must have huge Pillars with ornate decorations draped between the pillars would be a significant element.A huge dragon flying overhead and tearing the top off of one the pillars as it flies by would be a significant dynamic element to consider.Your character dodging the debris from the pillars which are being torn up by the dragon would also be a significant element to mention.Having too many significant elements can affect composition, muddy an image with far too many details and make it hard to read well, sometimes leading to a worse image overall and requiring a lot of extra work to make it work well. Hopefully this helps you understand my reasoning.

Is the commission for personal use?
Printing out for your own wall or a gift to a friend/s and private use. Use in a private D&D campaign with friends, etc. (Not reselling or using in a commercial form for revenue / marketing gain).

Is the commission for commercial use?
Promotional, album, book, or other cover art for selling, print selling / re-distribution. Making content on YouTube, Twitch, etc, such as a public D&D campaign for content. (Reselling or using in a commercial form for revenue / marketing gain.)
Commercial use would increase the commission price.

Can I stream the art creation process on Twitch or not?
Please explicitly state if you would like me to work in private off stream for your commission or else I may stream my progress on it. A large bulk of the content I make involves streaming, so working on it in private may take away from the time I can stream and as a result may increase the commission price.

When do you need the art done by? No immediate deadline? Need the art in a rush?
Please let me know the general time frame I need to work with. If you require it to be done in a rush, then this will increase the price. My typical target turnaround of a commission is roughly 1 to 2 weeks depending on my current project queue.

Any final questions?
Anything else that may concern you about the commission?

Workflow

Below is an example of my workflow and what to expect.

Phase 1 - I will create some thumbnails based on the info and feedback you provide me throughout this phase in order to narrow down the ideal art that you want. This phase can be longer for larger more complicated and expensive commissions.Phase 2 - You've now chosen the sketch you like the most so I begin to refine it further to completion. Midway through refinement I can make small additions and changes where possible.Phase 3 - The finalisation of a piece based on any small additions and changes requested in Phase 2. (In the example above, I was able to add in red foliage as an additional design element towards the end.
